A new crowd has taken over as Republicans, still celebrating their victories in the general election, hold a majority in the House and Senate.

Georgia Republicans have achieved their goal of controlling state government. Now comes the hard part – governing and passing legislation.

Next year state officials may have to find anywhere from $1 billion to $1.5 billion in new money for a budget they were barely able to balance this year.
