Coweta County Student Heads to National Civics Bee

A student from Arnall Middle School in Coweta County will represent Georgia in the National Civics Bee in November in Washington, D.C.

Ella H. was one of 24 civics challengers to qualify for the Georgia state finals, after finishing in the top three in their local Civics Bee competitions. Iksha K., representing Webb Middle School in Fulton County, came in second and Nicholas H. from Georgia Military Prep in Baldwin County took third place.

The 2026 National Civics Bee is an annual competition open to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in all 50 states, D.C. and American Samoa. Its goal is to enhance civic literacy and empower future generations to learn how the U.S. government works and to ultimately use their knowledge to make a difference in their communities.

The top finalists will receive money that goes toward an education savings plan – ranging from up to $15,000 for the third-place winner and $25,000 for second place to $100,000 for the national champion.
