European manufacturer picks Macon for North American headquarters, will invest $57M
Alba Rosa reports that a European steel manufacturer announced Monday it would establish its first North American headquarters in Macon-Bibb County, promising new jobs for Georgians. ArcelorMittal Building Solutions, of Luxembourg, will invest about $57 million to build its headquarters and a new manufacturing facility in Macon, according to a news release from Gov. Brian Kemp on Monday.

The grant will partially fund the work required for the 1921 structure, which was vandalized multiple times between September and November 2026.

Staff reports that the Atlanta Beltline will launch ATL Spoke, a free autonomous – that’s driverless – community shuttle on the Westside, on Friday, June 5. The shuttles’ initial route will have stops at MARTA West End Station, Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard at Beecher Street, and two stops within the Lee + White district: the Food Hall on the west and Boxcar/Wild Heaven on the east.

Staff reports that U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff recently announced new resources to help veterans find jobs after they leave the Armed Forces, including $300,000 in grant funding awarded to Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR). Bipartisan legislation passed in February led to this funding to support organizations across Georgia that help veterans find jobs once they leave the Armed Forces.
