Electric ‘air taxis’ built in GA could offer a rideshare option in big cities. Here’s when

Hunter reports that a billion-dollar company wants to replace taxis and rideshare apps such as Uber and Lyft with an electric helicopter service, and they plan to make the choppers in Georgia. California-based air taxi tech company Archer Aviation will soon manufacture its electric helicopters, which they call “eVTOL’s” –electric vertical take off and landing – in Covington.

Report: Chinese electric truck manufacturer plans Georgia factory

Zachary Hansen reports that Chinese electric truck startup Windrose plans to open a manufacturing plant for its fleet of semi-trucks in Georgia, according to Reuters. Windrose founder and CEO Wen Han told the news outlet Friday it would build its first U.S. factory to assemble truck chassis and other Chinese-made vehicle parts into semi-trucks for the American market.

Judge Orders New Cobb Commission Elections Over Map Dispute

Hunter Riggall reports that Cobb County Superior Court judge has ordered new elections for Districts 2 and 4 of the Board of Commissioners after finding the county did not have the right to draw its own electoral districts. In a Thursday ruling, Judge Kellie Hill agreed that the Board of Commissioners did not have the authority to supplant a commission map passed by the state legislature and signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp with a map of their own.
