Gov. Kemp Announces 66 Appointments to State Boards, Commissions, and Authorities
Staff reports that Gov. Kemp on Monday announced the appointment and re-appointment of the following 66 Georgians to various state boards, authorities, and commissions. David Cyr, Don Grantham Sr., Alec Poitevint II, and Christopher Womack were reappointed to the Georgia Ports Authority.

The ‘Sweet Spot’: Tourism Experts Talk Cobb’s Biggest Industry
Annie Mayne reports that tourism is the largest industry in Cobb, bringing an estimated $2.4 billion into the county each year and employing more than 18,000 people, according to Holly Quinlan, CEO of Cobb Travel and Tourism. Quinlan said the tourism industry’s impact on the county’s economy is so great that without it, each Cobb household would need to be taxed an additional $726 per year to replace its revenue.

Georgia joins online mapping tool to reduce bee-killing ‘pesticide drift’

Ross Williams reports, the Georgia Senate Artificial Intelligence Study Committee is set to meet Wednesday at Georgia Tech to explore the extent Georgia lawmakers should promote policies to attract AI business and research and how much they should focus on preventing pitfalls like loss of jobs or privacy. “One of the things we heard a lot at least early on was about how the EU is taking a very maybe regulatory approach toward AI,” said Sen. Max Burns, a Sylvania Republican, speaking at the inaugural AI Committee hearing last month.

Advocacy groups raise concerns over last-minute Georgia State Election Board meeting
