TCSG Launches Online Platform Connecting Job Seekers with Georgia Employers
Staff reports that Gov. Kemp yesterday announced that the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) has launched an online Labor Exchange Platform, directly connecting job seekers and employers across Georgia. This innovative, first of its kind state resource is an integral part of WorkSource Georgia.

Wells Fargo gives $1.5M to Atlanta group for Black entrepreneurship
Mirtha Donastorg reports that the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE), a local nonprofit focused on boosting Black entrepreneurship, received a $1.5 million gift on Tuesday from banking giant Wells Fargo. The gift will support a new learning space at RICE that is under construction and slated to open next July.

Early on a Monday morning in October in the height of shrimp season the driver had come to pick up a load of freshly caught shrimp from the James W. Salyers, a shrimp boat captained by David Attia.

Gulfstream beats Virgin Atlantic to historic ‘sustainable’ overseas flight
Staff reports that November is shaping up to be a milestone month for innovations in aviation fuel. Savannah-based Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced Monday that it had completed the world’s first trans-Atlantic flight Sunday using only “sustainable” fuel – a little more than a week ahead of a scheduled Virgin Atlantic flight that the British company predicted would achieve the milestone.

CFL Flooring plans major Gordon County Expansion
Blake Silvers reports that a Gordon County flooring manufacturer has announced a major expansion planned for its Calhoun facility. Creative Flooring Solutions, 3576 Highway 41, has plans for a $151 million expansion to its local campus that has steadily grown over the past several years just north of the Bartow County line.

Georgia Deal of the Year awarded to Bartow project
David Herron reports that Hyundai Motor Group and SK On won the Georgia Deal of the Year award in the large community category for a battery facility they are building in Bartow County. Melinda Lemmon, executive director of the Cartersville-Bartow County Department of Economic Development, nominated the Hyundai and SK On project for this honor.

Sen. Warnock, Rep. Bishop visit Ocmulgee site as progress stalls for National Park status

Raphael Warnock visited the Ocmulgee National Historic Park on Monday and received a tour of the museum and grounds, he showed his support for the ongoing effort to ensure the Muscogee Creek Nation’s homeland receives federal protection. “After hiking the grounds and learning more about its history, today, it is clear Ocmulgee is not just an expanse of land, it is a living testament to our intertwined histories,” Warnock said.
