Delta to Begin Flights From Atlanta to Tulum, Mexico in Time for Spring Break
Trevor Williams reports, Delta Air Lines Inc. is set to begin daily nonstop flights from Atlanta to Tulum, Mexico, next March, the latest direct access for American travelers to the Yucatan Peninsula. Delta already serves Cancun nonstop and will restart its flights to Cozumel from Atlanta on Nov. 5.

Southface Institute gets $5.87M to aid nonprofits’ energy-efficiency upgrades
John Ruch reports that Atlanta-based nonprofit Southface Institute has received a $5.87 million federal grant to fund other Southeast nonprofits’ energy-efficiency improvements. The funding goes to Southface’s High Impact Energy Efficiency Improvement Portfolio, which provides financial and technical assistance.

Meta agrees to donate $300,000 to Newton Trails
Evan Newton reports that Meta representative Katie Comer announced Thursday at the Newton Trails meeting that Meta, the parent company of popular social media apps Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, will be donating $300,000 to Newton Trails that will be used to finish construction of the Alcovy River Trestle.

State gives update on CSH buildings slated for demo
Staff reports, the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) recently gave an update on the state’s quest to demolish four former Central State Hospital buildings. “DBHDD is currently working with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Historic Preservation Division regarding next steps for the Central State site,” senior communications manager Camille Taylor said in an email to the newspaper.
