2022 Georgia’s Top 100 Public Companies
Georgia’s largest public businesses posted $604.6 billion in total revenues in 2021, helping to maintain the state’s economy as one of the nation’s healthiest.

Last year Georgians continued to deal with the challenges of a pandemic, though many businesses in the state have displayed remarkable resilience and continue to thrive.
Georgia remains No.1 on lists of the nation’s best places to do business, thanks in large part to our wealth of universities and technical colleges that provide talent to fill workforce needs. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where flights reach more than 80% of the country in less than two hours, and our ports, which routinely handle record amounts of cargo, contribute to the benefits businesses need.
The state’s top public companies have taken advantage of these benefits and other amenities. Many have chosen to locate their headquarters here. Among those on this year’s list are banks, retail operations, bioscience, logistics and technology firms whose impact stretches throughout the country and around the world.
According to the Georgia Department of Economic Development, this year’s list includes 18 Fortune 500 and 33 Fortune 1000 companies, which puts the state in the nation’s top 10 for having the most of both.
Twelve new companies made the list with the largest, Saia Inc., coming in at No. 34.
Though the companies in the top 10 are the same as last year, the order changed. Reflecting the rebound in air travel, Delta Air Lines moved up from No. 7 last year to No. 4 on this year’s list.
