Filmed in Georgia: A record 455 film and TV productions were shot in Georgia in FY 2018, generating $2.7 billion in direct spending and a total economic impact of $9.5 billion. The industry is responsible for more than 92,100 jobs and nearly $4.6 billion in wages in the state, and more than 300 new businesses have relocated or expanded in Georgia to support it.

Albany Lumber: Building products and materials supplier Georgia-Pacific LLC is investing $150 million into a new lumber production facility in Dougherty County, creating 130 jobs.

Brewing Up Employment: Starbucks is opening a satellite office in Midtown Atlanta to support its Seattle headquarters. The $16-million facility will add 500 jobs to the region.

Cobb IoT: Sierra Wireless, a Vancouver-based internet-of-things (IoT) firm, is opening a global service center in Cobb County, employing more than 140 people.

Construction Materials: Fiber cement manufacturer Nichiha Corp. is investing $120 million to expand its Macon-Bibb County manufacturing facility, creating 74 new jobs.

Banks Manufacturing: German polystyrene foams manufacturer SELIT North America is creating 100 new jobs when it invests $45 million into a new facility in Banks County.

Calhoun Flooring: Flooring manufacturer Mannington Mills is investing $42 million in a Calhoun facility, creating more than 200 jobs.

Auto Hub: Jaguar Land Rover Classic is opening an operations hub in Savannah, the company’s first U.S. facility. It will create 75 jobs.
