Oakland Cemetary

Atlanta’s Historic Oakland Cemetery is hosting Membership Month right now through the end of June. Membership opens up early access to tickets for their popular Capturing the Spirit of Halloween event among other things like scheduled cemetery tours, 10 percent off their gift shop merchandise, and their newsletter, and more. There, you can see the resting places of “Residents of Oakland” like Atlanta’s first African-American mayor, Maynard Jackson; the author of “Gone With the Wind,” Margaret Mitchell; golfer Bobby Jones; and many more people who helped build Atlanta over last centuries.
