Points of Light Conference returns

Points Of Light Igniting Civic Culture

Atlanta-based Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, will hold its annual conference June 18-20. Known as Service Unites, the conference will bring together more than 2,500 nonprofit, government, business and civic leaders to exchange knowledge, resources and connections needed to solve society’s greatest challenges.

The conference will take place at the Omni Hotel in downtown Atlanta. It will include special events at a number of venues such as the historic Fox Theatre, the Center for Civil and Human Rights and the World of Coca-Cola. More than 100 workshops will focus on topics related to building resilient communities, volunteerism, youth engagement and disaster preparedness, among others.

The extensive roster of speakers includes former U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband retired NASA astronaut Mark Kelly, actress Brooke Shields, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Paul Bowers, chair, president and CEO of Georgia Power.
