Peachtree Corners tests driverless technology

Tech Parkway Av Intersection

Autonomous vehicle track route

The Peachtree Corners City Council has approved a $2-million autonomous vehicle (AV) project that will enable Technology Parkway, which traverses the 500-acre Technology Park, to become an AV testing site. A driverless shuttle is being planned to run on a designated lane of the 1.4-mile road, which will be shared with passenger cars.

Prototype Prime, the city’s startup incubator, will collaborate on the project and help attract ancillary companies working on AV-related technology and other transportation innovations. The incubator will also partner with TechConnectHub, which will assist in matching corporate partners with research entities and startups. Construction on the AV track is expected to begin soon with completion by early next year.
