Georgia Trend wins national, regional awards

The Society for Professional Journalists (SPJ) and the Alliance of Area Business Publishers (AABP) has recognized Editor-at-Large Susan Percy and Co-editor in Chief and Publisher Neely Young with awards for journalism excellence.
The AABP recognized Susan Percy with a Gold award in the Best Bylined Commentary category, and the SPJ presented her with a Second Place Green Eyeshade Award in the Serious Commentary/Magazine category for a collection of her 2015 Business Casual columns, including:
- “Fear and Loathing,” January 2015
- “Keeping the Faith,” May 2015
- “Real Villains,” June 2015
- “The Ear of the Beholder,” July 2015
- “Acts of Kindness,” September 2015
Percy also won an AABP Silver for Best Feature for her March 2015 article about the restaurant industry, “Eat, Drink and Enjoy.”
The SPJ awarded Neely Young with a Third Place Green Eyeshade in the Serious Commentary/Magazine category for his 2015 From the Publisher columns, including:
- “Immigration Reform a Must,” March 2015
- “The Only Thing,” May 2015
- “An Old, Sweet Song,” June 2015
