Automotive in Cartersville: Voestalpine Metal Forming is building a manufacturing facility in Bartow County, creating 220 jobs. This will be the first facility in the Southeast for the Austrian automotive manufacturing company, which will be investing $62 million.
Biotech: Atlanta Biologicals has broken ground in Oakwood. The Germany-based biotechnology manufacturer is planning a 36,000-square-foot facility for its North American operations and will employ 30 when it opens in 2013.
Floyd Jobs: F&P Georgia is making a $31-million expansion, bringing a total of 100 new jobs to Floyd County. F&P makes auto parts for Honda and Nissan.
Seasonal Jobs: Alorica, a customer management outsourcing solutions provider, is adding 1,000 new em-ployees to its Kennesaw location by the end of 2012. Roughly 700 of those will be for seasonal employment, with the remaining 300 permanent positions.
In Columbus: NVH Korea Co. Ltd. subsidiary AFS America is opening its first U.S. plant in Colum-bus. The $3-million facility, which will manufacture automotive floor mats and cargo trays, will open at the end of 2012 and ramp up production throughout 2013, creating 65 new jobs.
Tifton Transport: Atlanta-based Premier Trans-portation is opening a facility in Tifton, creating 30 new jobs. The company provides transportation and logistics solutions to retail department stores and customer products industries nationwide.
Paulding Facility: Interroll, a leading supplier of conveyer systems and components, is locating its North American manufacturing facility, showroom and technology center in Paulding County. The 93,000-square-foot facility represents a $10-million investment and will create an initial 70 jobs.
Hot Expansion: Dalton-based Heatmax is expanding its warehouse from 9,000 to 25,000 square feet, representing a $6-million investment and adding 12 to 15 new jobs. The company manufactures Hothands recreational warmers.
Savannah Distribution: A Dollar Tree warehouse distribution facility in Sav-annah recently completed a 400,000-square-foot expansion. The $20-million in-vestment has created 182 jobs.
Travel Agency: MLT Vacations, a Delta Air Lines subsidiary, is moving from Minneapolis to Atlanta, potentially bringing up to 160 employees to the area.
New Mixed-Use: A mix-ed-use development, Peak at University Parkway, is being proposed for Dacula. The 156-acre project would bring 2.6 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space, along with a 500-room hotel.
