Throughout the year, Georgia Trend publishes several special lists. Many readers have called and written asking how to nominate candidates for these lists. Here’s the scoop.
Georgian of the Year/100 Most Influential Georgians
Honorees in these annual features, which appear together in January, are selected exclusively by the Georgia Trend editorial staff based on our own knowledge and observations of the state’s power structure. The same holds true for the Notables list that accompanies them.
Although we don’t take nominations for this honor, we’re happy to consider serious suggestions. Feel free to email them to us via the form on the contact page of this website.
40 Under 40
Nominations will be accepted from April 1 - June 2, 2008 for this annual feature, which appears in October, and can be mailed, e-mailed, faxed or submitted via the Web site to Managing Editor Shannon Wilder – but please, no phone calls. We do accept multiple nominations for individuals; nominations may include backup material such as articles, letters of recommendation, etc.
As for qualifications – an ideal candidate is someone who is affecting Georgia (or his or her corner of it) via a job and/or civic involvement. There are cases in which a day job alone is enough of a qualification, but the state is filled with people who excel at the 9 to 5, so we’re looking for folks whose involvement and commitment goes beyond what they’re being paid to do.
Candidates must be under 40 as of Oct. 1, 2008.
Nominate online now!
Or you can send your nomination to Shannon Wilder, Managing Editor, Georgia Trend, 5880 Live Oak Parkway, Suite 280, Norcross GA 30093 or fax them to 770-931-9505
Best Places to Work
Nominations are accepted from June 2 – July 7, 2008
Georgia Trend is looking for The Best Places To Work in Georgia for a special report that will appear in our November 2008 issue.
Employees at any level – executive, professional, office staff – may nominate their companies. Simply tell us why you think yours is the best. Is it the salary? The benefits? The people? The sense that what you do is important?
Legal Elite
Appearing in December, this listing reflects Georgia’s top lawyers (in several different categories) as nominated by their peers. Ballots are mailed to several thousand members of the State Bar of Georgia, and may also be downloaded from this website from early July to early August. Any attorney who is a member of the bar and who lives and works in Georgia may vote.
