Throughout the year, Georgia Trend publishes several special lists. Many readers have called and written asking how to nominate candidates for these lists. Here’s the scoop.
Georgian of the Year/100 Most Influential Georgians
Honorees in these annual features, which appear together in January, are selected exclusively by the Georgia Trend editorial staff based on our own knowledge and observations of the state’s power structure. The same holds true for the Notables list that accompanies them.
Although we don’t take nominations for this honor, we’re happy to consider serious suggestions. Feel free to email them to us via the form on the contact page of this website.
Best Places to Work in Georgia
The nomination period for the 2016 Best Places to Work in Georgia is closed. We'll reveal the winners in the July 2016 issue.
This survey and recognition program is dedicated to finding and recognizing the best employers in Georgia! If you think your organization has what it takes to be honored on the "Best Places to Work in Georgia" list for 2017, consider nominating your company later this year. Look for information this summer.
The nomination period for 2016 has ended.
40 Under 40
We welcome your nominations. We will begin to accept nominations for our 2016 40 Under 40 on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 and the nomination period will close at 5 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 (we will not accept nominations outside of those dates).
This annual feature appears in October. Nomination forms can be mailed, e-mailed to email@example.com, or submitted via the website – but please, no phone calls. We do accept multiple nominations for individuals; nominations may include backup material such as resumes or letters of recommendation, etc.
As for qualifications – an ideal candidate is someone who is affecting Georgia (or his or her corner of it) via a job and/or civic involvement. There are cases in which a day job alone is enough of a qualification, but the state is filled with people who excel at the 9 to 5, so we’re looking for folks whose involvement and commitment goes beyond what they’re being paid to do.
Candidates must be under 40 as of Oct. 1, 2016.
Nominations will be accepted Monday, May 2, 2016 - Friday, July 29, 2016. Nominations received before or after that time cannot be considered. In December, we will publish our annual listing of the state’s top attorneys, in several different practice areas, as determined by their peers. Any attorney who lives and works in Georgia and is a member of the Georgia bar is eligible to vote.
You cannot vote for yourself, but you can vote for attorneys in your own firm, as long as you vote for an equal or greater number of attorneys outside the firm. Online ballots must include the voting attorney’s name, telephone number and email address.
