Effingham Ammo: Underwood Ammo is investing $41 million in a new manufacturing facility in Effingham County, creating 120 new jobs. The company makes handgun and rifle ammunition for hunting and self-defense. Construction will begin in 2026.
Hospital Expansion: Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center is expanding. The $56 million project will modernize its operating room and surgical services. Construction will continue until 2028 on the expansion.

Macon Manufacturing: In Bibb County, IMMI opened a 75,000-square-foot facility this fall that makes school bus seats for Blue Bird with lap-shoulder belts and bus driver airbags, firsts for the industry. The facility created 80 new jobs, with more expected as demand grows.
Alpharetta Medical: German medical device manufacturer Pajunk recently celebrated a 30,000-square-foot expansion of its U.S. headquarters in Alpharetta. The expansion not only adds warehouse and office space, it also triples the company’s cleanroom footprint and adds injection molding manufacturing capabilities. The facility first opened in 2021.
Hall Logistics: New York City-based logistics company Veho recently opened a 150,000-square-foot regional e-commerce distribution center in Flowery Branch, shifting operations from a smaller location in Lawrenceville. The new facility allows the company to process five times more e-commerce parcels than at its previous location.
Fulton Mixed Use: In South Fulton, a $209 million mixed-use project called Sandtown Village will begin rising on 60 acres about 15 miles southwest of Downtown Atlanta. Plans call for more than 920,000 square feet of housing, retail and commercial space as well as 10 acres dedicated to green space, boardwalks and nature trails. The project will generate 366 full-time and 191 part-time jobs.
More Soccer: Atlanta United recently celebrated the opening of an expansion to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground in Marietta. The $25 million project includes a second gym and a studio for filming and podcasts.
