Fayetteville Soccer: The U.S. Soccer Federation is moving its headquarters to Fayette County, creating 440 new jobs. The $228 million investment will include construction of a first-of-its-kind national training center that will serve as the training and competition center for all 27 of the U.S. Soccer’s men’s, women’s and youth teams and nine Extended National teams, along with youth player development, coaching and referee training.
Rincon Distribution: Korean automotive supplier Kyungshin America Corp. is investing more than $22 million to open a distribution center in Effingham County. The company makes components like wire harnesses and assemblies for the electric vehicle market and will create 70 jobs.
Savannah Shipping: Texas-based Plastic Express is building a second shipping facility in Chatham County. The $80 million investment in the 982,800-square-foot facility will create 200 jobs. The company offers bulk trucking, bulk terminal, packaging and warehousing services for the plastics industry. Operations are expected to begin mid-2024.
Atlanta Entrepreneurship: Investment group Atlanta Ventures, which founded Atlanta Tech Village in Buckhead, announced it has purchased 10 blocks of property in South Downtown Atlanta from German company Newport RE. Newport unveiled its plan to revive the area in 2016 but plans fell through last year. The group anticipates transforming the more than 50 buildings and acres of vacant parking lots into a tech entrepreneurial district with housing, retail, restaurants and more.
Peachtree City Pharma: German manufacturer Gerresheimer is investing more than $88 million to expand its operations in Fayette County. The new facility will produce autoinjector medical devices and create more than 200 jobs. This is the second expansion for the company, which is currently growing its existing facility to support an additional 180 jobs in April.
Cartersville Brews: Anheuser-Busch invested $13 million into its brewery in Bartow County in 2023 to increase capabilities, upgrade infrastructure and support ongoing improvements to the facility.
