The report also notes that Georgia outpaces the national average for the proportion of employment derived from foreign direct investment with 7.2% in Georgia vs. 6% nationally.
Sylvania Manufacturing: Preciball USA is opening a new production facility in Screven County. The $17.6 million investment will create 65 new jobs over the next several years. The company manufactures precision ball bearings for industrial use.

Energy Investment: Atlanta Gas Light is building a liquefied natural gas facility in Lowndes County to help strengthen the region’s energy capacity and support more industrial growth, particularly related to food production. The $50 million facility will create nearly 100 jobs during construction, and several highly skilled positions once operational in 2027.
Aviation Expansion: Pratt & Whitney celebrated a recent expansion that created 400 new jobs with the news that it is investing more than $200 million in yet another expansion in Columbus, initially creating 15 new jobs with more to follow. The company designs, manufactures and services aircraft engines and auxiliary power units for military, commercial and civil aviation.
Atlanta Revival: The former CNN Center in Downtown Atlanta is being revived as The Center. The $65 million-plus project includes a food hall, Maestro’s Ocean Club as an anchor restaurant and the largest bar in the city. It will also serve as the home base for the Atlanta Host Committee during the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the event’s volunteer headquarters. CTR Culture, in partnership with a local community-focused arts group, will feature public art, experiential activations and cultural programing there.
