VialumeColquitt Manufacturing: Brazilian transportation safety company Grupo Vialume is investing $4.4 million to establish its U.S. manufacturing operations in Miller County. The family-owned company will create 150 new jobs over the next seven years at the facility, which will produce plastic raised pavement markers and precision-engineered reflective lenses for road safety. It will also serve as a pioneering recycling hub for once-unrecyclable materials like textile offcuts and peanut-shell byproducts.

Columbus Expansion: Global healthcare logistics company BioTouch is expanding its two existing facilities, which make manufacturing kits for medical testing and sample collection, in Muscogee County. The $12.5 million project will create a combined 480 new jobs.

Monroe HVAC: MGM Products, which makes accessory products for the commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry, is building a $38.5 million manufacturing facility in Monroe. The new facility will create 150 to 175 new jobs over the first five years.

Metro Area Bagels: Popular New York bagel chain PopUp Bagels is opening five restaurants in Georgia, part of its larger plan to open 300 franchise locations across 10 states. The first will open along the Atlanta Beltline’s Eastside Trail, followed by locations in Buckhead and Dunwoody.

Glynn County Distribution: Amazon recently opened a new delivery station in Glynn County, creating 100 jobs. The 58,000-square-foot center focuses on last-mile delivery for the Golden Isles region.

Athens Mixed-Use: A $95 million housing and commercial development, dubbed “The Shoals,” will break ground this spring in Athens. The project will include 600 housing units, retail and commercial space on approximately 90 acres on Barnett Shoals Road.

New Industrial Facility: Hillpointe recently celebrated the grand opening of its warehouse and office complex in Glynn County’s Tradewinds Technology Park. The 500,000-square-foot distribution center, the largest industrial facility in the county, will have 100 new employees.
