Making international travel plans could be a little easier this summer if you’re flying out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Frontier Airlines announced earlier this year that it’s increasing departures from Atlanta, including new routes to destinations like Aruba and Honduras. Frontier is now the third largest airline in Atlanta, after Delta and Southwest.

Southwest also offers international getaways from ATL, including trips to the Caribbean and Mexico.

The carrier recently asked the U.S. Department of Transportation for permission to fly to any country that has an Open Skies aviation agreement with the U.S. If approved, that could clear the way for destinations to Europe, Latin America, and parts of Asia and Africa.

Meanwhile, Delta began nonstop flights to Naples, Italy, just before Memorial Day weekend, and it plans to fly the route four times a week through October. Last month, Delta also resumed its nonstop flight from Atlanta to Brussels, which departs three times weekly. The airline’s flights to Brussels paused five years ago during COVID-19 travel restrictions.

More international options are on the way in the coming year. Delta CEO Ed Bastian has announced that the airline plans to begin a nonstop flight from Atlanta to Delhi in 2026.
