The Columbus Museum Recognized
The Columbus Museum received top honors as one of USA Today’s 10 Best Museums for 2025. The recognition follows a makeover and reopening last May. The top 10 winners were nominated by an expert panel and voted by readers as the best new or newly transformed venues.
The 18-month, $28.5 million renovation didn’t expand the museum’s size but did add expansive views and plenty of natural light, allowing for a better presentation of the art and history collections. In addition to the new look, the museum got a new logo and was rebranded with the nickname COMU.
Outdoor changes included better street visibility, a new courtyard, improvements to the Bradley Olmsted Garden and an interactive children’s garden.
Other top venues were in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C. and New York.
“USA Today’s 10Best award is a testament to the passion and dedication of our community,” said museum Director Marianne Richter. “It highlights the incredible work happening here in Columbus, and we’re honored to share this moment with everyone who believes in our mission of bringing American art and history to life.”
