Two Key Korean Projects in Georgia Gain Combined $1.5B in Federal Funding
Trevor Williams reports, the outgoing Biden administration has finalized funding for two Korean-invested companies that will pump more than $1.5 billion in federal money into Georgia and advance two projects poised to employ thousands in the state. Absolics, which makes glass substrates for semiconductors, has taken delivery of $75 million award from the Commerce Department under the CHIPS and Scientific Act, a more than $50 billion law focused on driving American semiconductor production.

Georgia ranks first for HIV cases in the country, according to new report
Katie Burkholder reports that new research has revealed that Georgia is the number one state in the country for reported HIV cases. The study, compiled from CDC data by Universal Drugstore, found that Georgia’s HIV rate is 23.1 reported cases per 100,000 residents, the highest in the country – followed by Louisiana at 18.2 cases per 100,000 and Nevada at 17.7 – and more than double the national average of 11.8.

The Department of Corrections Facilities Senate Study Committee, chaired by Majority Whip Sen.
