Gov Kemp: Georgia Job Creation Remains Strong

Staff reports that Gov. Kemp, in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), yesterday announced another year of sustained momentum for business recruitment and expansions in Fiscal Year 2024. Between July 1, 2023, and June 30 of this year, GDEcD’s Global Commerce team supported 429 facility expansions and new locations resulting in more than $20.3 billion in investment and the commitment of 26,900 new, private sector jobs statewide.

Vanessa Coutryman reports, in a tribute to the men and women who serve in law enforcement, the flags on the State Capitol building and in Carroll and Paulding Counties were ordered to be flown at half-staff following the deaths of two deputies. “As we grieve the loss of Carroll County Investigator Taylor Bristow during a painful and difficult week for Georgia Law Enforcement, I’ve ordered flags at the State Capitol and in Carroll County to fly half-staff on Thursday, August 29, in honor of his bravery and sacrifice,” tweeted Governor Kemp.
