Earth Day report card: Georgians battle threats to state’s natural wonders year round

Even though the pact between the airlines does not relate to commercial flights, Delta officials told said that the order will have a direct impact on consumers and the economy.

Groundbreaking ceremony highlights a new building for UGA’s School of Medicine

Wayne Ford reports that many of the men and women directly responsible for creating a University of Georgia School of Medicine gathered Friday afternoon on the campus in Athens for a ceremonial ground-breaking of a new facility. After speeches giving recognition to those who used their influence and worked to gain state financial support, a select number were positioned to hold shovels at long pile of dirt.

Shaw Industries conducts Flipping the Switch ceremony in Adairsville

David Herron reports that Shaw Industries hosted a Flipping the Switch ceremony at the Adairsville site April 16 to celebrate installing solar technology on campus. “The installation is expected to generate approximately 300 kilowatts of power, enough to power more than 45 homes’ electricity, according to conversion factors from the Environmental Protection Agency,” Shaw stated in a press release.
