Construction Ready was created by construction employers to meet the high need for skilled workers across Georgia. Their primary goal is closing the “skills gap” between the retiring and emerging workforce. Construction Ready’s career expo educates children and college students on the industry skills needed to enter into professional trades.

More than 9,000 people are expected to attend, including 6,000 K-12 and college students from across Georgia who will learn about careers in the skilled trades from more than 1,200 teachers, parents, school counselors and administrators. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with industry professionals from over 300 leading companies.

The expo will host colleges and universities from across Georgia that offer programs in different construction career clusters. Students will learn how these schools are preparing the new workforce to enter into in-demand trade careers.

Students will experience the sights and sounds of a real construction site, and interactive displays will allow students to see the scope of jobs in the industry, use the equipment and introduce them to specific career paths.
