2024 100 Most Influential Georgians

Leadership, strength and resilience.

100 Georgia Trend

This year’s Georgian of the Year, Ed Bastian, is the classic example of leadership, strength and resilience. Such attributes no doubt helped him rise to the position where he is today. So it’s probably no surprise these same qualities can also be seen in so many other leaders who serve in local and state government or run businesses, hospitals, universities and nonprofits throughout Georgia’s 159 counties.

Georgia Trend is honoring many of these standout individuals on our annual list of 100 Most Influential Georgians. In addition to helping educate, increase and empower Georgia’s workforce, these leaders also serve their communities, innovate and create, and make a positive impact, with effects that reach well beyond their corporations, organizations, schools and municipalities.

In this year’s list, you’ll find doctors, CEOs, educators, politicians, and the heads of nonprofits and economic development organizations, among others, from virtually every area of the state. Some are household names, while others you may be reading about for the first time. All have something in common: Their work ethic and professionalism are extraordinary, and the impact of their work touches the lives of many Georgians.

The Georgia Trend staff spends a fair amount of time and discussion during the selection process of the most influential leaders, narrowing down an extremely long list to 100 names. It’s not easy, but ultimately, we feel the group chosen represents the best qualities of authority, capability, integrity and influence the state has to offer.

There is also a list of Notable Georgians on page 74. These are individuals who have also made a significant impact in the Peach State over the years.
