Economic Development GraphicRecord Investments: For the third year in a row, Georgia broke economic development records. From July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, investments in facility expansions and new locations totaled more than $24 billion, resulting in 38,400 new jobs through 426 projects. Annual investments increased 131% over the last three years. Some 82% of the new jobs created and more than $20 billion in investments are outside the 10-county Metro Atlanta region. Expansions account for 71% of total projects, and new locations resulted in 65% of the jobs created.

Athens Construction: Korean construction manufacturer Duckshin Housing is investing more than $15 million in its first U.S. facility, which will create 100 new jobs in Athens-Clarke County.

Albany Manufacturing: Diamond Door Products is expanding in Dougherty County. The Texas-based commercial and industrial steel manufacturer will create 25 jobs and expects to be fully operational in early 2024.

Gainesville Groundbreaking: Kubota Manufacturing of America Corp. recently broke ground on its latest facility in Hall County. The $190 million, 700,000-square-foot expansion will add 500 jobs and mass-produce front-end loaders for Kubota tractors.

Atlanta Solar: Solar energy company Cherry Street Energy is expanding, moving from Midtown Atlanta to a larger, 13,600-square-foot facility in West Midtown. The company sells solar power directly to large-scale customers, including city governments, to stabilize their energy rates and make measurable reductions in their carbon emissions.

Metro Move: Turkish electrical distribution system company EAE Group is moving from Dunwoody to Tucker, where it already has a nearly 102,000-square-foot distribution center.

West Point Auto: Korean company Daesol Ausys Georgia, a key supplier for Kia Georgia, Hyundai Motor Group and General Motors, is building a new manufacturing facility in Harris County that will make auto interior components and accessories. The $72 million investment will create more than 140 jobs.
