For the 19th year, Georgia’s top attorneys are chosen by their peers.
Who are some of the top lawyers in the state? We asked the people who know them best – fellow attorneys – and from their answers we selected this year’s Legal Elite. It’s the 19th time the magazine has recognized attorneys considered the best in their field.
This year’s outstanding lawyers practice all over the state, from metro areas like Atlanta and Macon to towns like Carrollton and St. Simons Island. The attorneys represent 15 legal practice areas: Bankruptcy/Creditors’ Rights, Business, Corporate, Criminal, Entertainment & Sports, Family, General Practice/Trial, Healthcare, Immigration, Intellectual Property, Labor & Employment, Personal Injury, Public Finance/Bonds, Real Estate/Construction and Taxes, Estates & Trusts.
To compile this listing, attorneys submitted nominations via our website at georgiatrend.com. Anyone who is a member of the state bar and lives and practices in Georgia was eligible to vote and to be voted onto this list. Respondents were not allowed to vote for themselves. They could, however, vote for members of their own firms if they voted for an equal or greater number of attorneys outside their firms.
We received nominations from hundreds of attorneys. The ones with the most votes by their peers appear in the following pages in alphabetical order. While lawyers often practice in many different areas, the Legal Elite are listed in the categories in which fellow attorneys voted them.
The lists are determined solely by lawyers’ votes; places on the list are not for sale. The names of the attorneys who are advertisers appear in red type. Ballots were tallied and names verified by the Georgia Trend staff.
