Macon music recognized

Recently Macon was featured at the No. 2 spot on a list of America’s best music cities (not named Nashville) by Fodor’s Travel. The story about Macon mentioned hometown music heroes Little Richard, Otis Redding and the Allman Brothers Band as well as music-related spots around town such as the Big House Museum, which houses all things Allman; Grant’s Lounge, where the Allmans, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Wet Willie played; and Hargray Capitol Theatre, a restored 1916 venue for music and movies. Rock Candy Tours, a tour company that showcases the city’s rich musical heritage, was also mentioned.
