Ga Small Biz Rock Stars

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) have honored four of the state’s companies as 2018 Small Business Rock Stars. They are:

  • AKESOgen, a provider of genetic analysis research along with clinical diagnostic and clinical trial services in Peachtree Corners
  • Gottwals Books, Byron-based franchiser of Walls of Books® bookstores throughout Georgia and in six other states
  • SouthLife Supply Company, creators of shotgun-shell jewelry and accessories, and handcrafted leather products in Thomasville
  • STRAND Clinical Technologies (formerly Creative Pharmacist), an Evans-based company that provides a clinical platform and educational support to help neighborhood pharmacists assist patients for improved outcomes

These companies were designated Small Business Rock Stars for their creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and their approach to growth. They have demonstrated increased revenue, sales and product offerings along with job creation and economic impact. Their representatives were honored as part of Georgia Small Business Week, March 19-23.
