Re-envisioning Downtown: German real estate company Newport U.S. RE is investing $500 million into redeveloping nearly 2 million square feet of downtown Atlanta. So far, the company has acquired 47 buildings between Atlanta City Hall and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.


Cobb Retail: A new IKEA is coming to Marietta’s Franklin Gateway Corridor. The 300,000-square-foot store will employ from 250 to 300.


Treutlen County Jobs: Wisconsin’s Modutek International LLC, manufacturer of modular buildings and power systems, is investing $6 million on a manufacturing and distribution facility in Soperton that will create 70 new jobs.


Gwinnett Tech: New York-based risk management company Assurant Inc. is investing $2.2 million into a technical support center in Duluth, creating 335 jobs.


Data in Douglasville: CyrusOne is investing $200 million over the next seven years into a data center campus in Douglas County in which other businesses will locate. The facility is expected to generate an additional $600 million in investment and create 38 jobs.


Macon Manufacturing: Graphic Packaging International is investing $136 million to update its mill in Macon-Bibb County. The facility, which makes paperboard for food and beverage packaging, supports 460 manufacturing jobs.


McDonough Apparel: S&S Activewear is creating 300 jobs in McDonough over the next four years. The imprintable apparel wholesaler will add a 505,000-square-foot warehouse that will be operational by the second quarter of 2018.


Auto Parts in Harris Co.: Automotive fiber-padding manufacturer Daesol Material Georgia LLC invested $35 million into a Harris County facility, creating 110 jobs.
