Atlanta Tech: Georgia’s capital is making a name for itself in the entrepreneurial scene. Atlanta was named one of the best cities in the country to launch a startup, outside of New York and Silicon Valley, coming in at No. 7 in a list by San Francisco-based DataFox.


Call Center: Los Angeles-based outsourcing services provider VXI Global Solutions is opening a call center in College Park this year that will create 570 jobs.


LaGrange Film: Specialty films company Jindal Films America LLC is relocating its U.S. R&D center and national headquarters to Troup County. The company will invest $180 million and expand its existing manufacturing facility, creating 240 jobs.


Luxury Views: The first hotel on the east side of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport since the international terminal opened in 2012 is set to break ground this year. Capella Hotel Group will develop the five-star 214-room Solís Hotel next to the Porsche Experience Center in the Aerotropolis development.


Dooly Biofuel: Ensyn Georgia Biorefinery has announced it will be building a biofuel plant in Dooly County that will produce 20 million gallons of renewable fuel a year. The company plans to hire 138 employees.


Cobb Healthcare: WellStar Health System is building a $77-million, 162,000-square-foot outpatient facility in Vinings that is scheduled to open in 2017.
