Economic Development: January 2016

Metro Area Data: Atlanta-based payment and transaction technology company InComm is investing $20 million and adding 275 jobs at its facilities in Atlanta, Peachtree Corners and Alpharetta. It also plans to open a new data center in Suwanee.


Bulloch Insulation: Aspen Aerogels Inc. is adding a facility in Statesboro, investing more than $70 million and creating more than 100 jobs. The company makes energy infrastructure insulation used in places like refineries and power plants and exports more than 60 percent of its products to international markets.


Baldwin Expansion: Chemtex is expanding in Milledgeville. The Rhode Island-based company, which manufactures and supplies oil and chemical absorbents, will bring 80 jobs to the area. 


Bartow Aluminum: Constellium, a manufacturer of aluminum products, is opening a facility in Bartow County, investing $32 million and creating 150 new jobs.


Gwinnett Telecom: Level 3 Communications is expanding its operations in Gwinnett County. The global telecommunications provider is consolidating its local employee base into a 39,000-square-foot facility in Peachtree Corners, bringing 350 jobs to the area.


Multi-locations: Harken Health Insurance Co. is opening six locations in the Metro Atlanta area, representing a $1-million investment that will initially hire 75 to 80 people.
