Dinex to Dublin: Denmark-based Dinex Group is opening its first U.S. plant in Dublin-Laur-ens County. The $15-million facility, which will produce exhaust and emission systems for diesel engines, will create 250 jobs.
Hiram Hospital: The WellStar Health System Inc. board has approved a $135-million campus in Hiram that will bring 500 new jobs to the area. The campus includes an eight-story, 56-bed hospital and 80,000-square-foot medical office building.
Exide Expands: Exide Technologies Inc. is producing a new battery at its Col-umbus plant, creating up to 100 new jobs by the end of 2013. The Edge AGM (Ab-sorbed Glass Mat) is part of a larger $70-million production expansion project.
Albany Jobs: Teleperfor- mance in Albany is expanding its operations and add-ing 200 jobs. The global provider of outsourced contact center services is partnering with Albany Tech-nical College, Georgia Quick Start and the Georgia De-partment of Labor to fill the positions.
Medline in Douglas: Medline Industries, Inc.’s $65-million, 300,000-square-foot facility that manufactures incontinence products opened in Douglas County, bringing 150 jobs to Lithia Springs.
Technology in Cobb: PointClear Solutions Inc. is opening a location in Marietta. The healthcare software technology firm will be bringing 10 high-wage jobs to Cobb County initially, with up to 75 more over the next three years.
Moving Headquarters: SBS Worldwide, a British shipping and logistics firm, recently moved its U.S. headquarters from Chicago to Atlanta, citing Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Inter-national Airport and the Port of Savannah as impetus for the move.
Baldwin Expansion: Triumph Aerostructures-Vought Aircraft Division, a subsidiary of Triumph Group, Inc., is expanding its facility in Milledgeville, adding 250 new jobs by the end of 2014 and representing a $36.6-million investment.
R&D in Kennesaw: Atlanta-based Novelis is op-ening a 160,000-square-foot research and development facility in Kennesaw this summer, creating 150 jobs.
Insurance in Atlanta: Protect Your Bubble, a niche insurance unit of Assurant Direct, opened its headquarters in Atlanta in March with 12 employees.
Bleckley Closing: The Lithonia Lighting facility in Bleckley County has an-nounced it is closing by September 2012, resulting in a loss of more than 400 jobs. Owned by parent company Acuity Brands, the Lithonia Lighting plant is Cochran’s biggest employer.
