This year’s top county awards go to Johnson, Randolph, Crisp, Dawson, Troup, Chatham and Carroll; Wilkinson, Baldwin, Johnson, Laurens and Washington share an award for a joint project.
The idea of a commuter rail line from Atlanta to Athens is hardly new, but Gwinnett developer Emory Morsberger thinks the time is right. The project will require lots of money, lots of political clout and some new attitudes.
Columbus is poised for substantial growth, thanks to Fort Benning, Aflac and the coming Kia plant. The big push won’t begin until 2008.
