NCR Adds Jobs: NCR is expanding its Columbus manufacturing facility to include point of sale systems for the retail, restaurant and hospitality industry, adding 100 jobs.
Medical Move: Elekta Inc. is moving its headquarters from Norcross to Atlanta. The developer of Leksell Gamma Knife, a brain cancer treatment device, expects to hire 100 new employees at its new 50,000-square-foot facility.
Emory Expands: Emory Healthcare is investing $46.6 million into a renovation and expansion of its flagship hospital in Atlanta that will increase operating room capacity by 5 percent to 10 percent. The project is ex-pected to be completed in two years.
Expansion in Hartwell: Ritz Instrument Transform-ers is expanding its product line, representing a $1 million investment. The expansion will add 50 new jobs, doubling the workforce at its Hartwell plant to 100 employees.
Shoes in Buford: Oka-bashi Brands is expanding in Buford. The eco-friendly flip-flop and sandal manufacturer is adding private labels to its production line and plans to add 150 jobs.
Outlet Mall: A new $80-million outlet mall is coming to Cherokee County. The initial 370,000-square-foot phase of the 58.6-acre Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta will have 90 tenants and is expected to bring up to 1,200 permanent jobs and 1,600 seasonal jobs. It is expected to open August 2013.
Atlanta Jobs: Atlanta-based analytics software company Oversight Systems Inc. is expanding into new product markets, adding 100 jobs.
Smyrna Business: Infosys Technologies opened a business-process outsourcing center in Smyrna. The new location includes 40 employees, with another 50 to 60 positions to be filled soon.
Research Center: The Panasonic Automotive Innovation Center opened at Georgia Tech’s Technol-ogy Square in May and is expected to employ 40 people. The research center will focus on automotive entertainment systems and will be an incubator for new technologies.
Green Savannah: Green Fleet Systems has opened in Savannah. The clean-burning drayage operation expects to add a minimum of 25 more jobs.
HQ in Duluth: Cavanna Packaging USA recently opened its 21,000-square-foot North American headquarters in Duluth. The Italian-based company, which makes machines that produce wrappers for products like cookies and granola bars, employs 11 there.
Biofuel in Cordele: Norcross-based Vega Biofuels Inc. is opening a 90,000-square-foot bio-coal manufacturing plant in Crisp County near the new Cordele Inland Port.
